Lab Testing

Lab testing can let us help you to achieve optimum health! Just getting into better shape next year is not enough to limit your risk of health problems.

  • Did you know that even if you have a healthy diet and take a multi-vitamin that does not mean your body is actually absorbing what you need?
  • Did you know that as we age, our ability to absorb certain nutrients declines? Have you ever wondered what positive effect the supplements you consume have on your body?
  • Did you know that 50% of people taking supplements will still remain deficient in these nutrients?

There is lab testing that measures the levels of select vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other essential micronutrients within your white blood cells (lymphocytes). This new technology offered by SpectraCell Laboratories measures the intracellular function of essential micronutrients within live white blood cells, which reflects your levels over the last few months.

Current standard serum tests only reflect a person’s diet over a narrow window of time. Additionally these tests can be biased by many factors, especially by foods eaten during the few days preceding the test, which can mask the detection of long-term deficiencies.

With evidence documenting that micronutrient deficiency contribute to all types of problems, including arthritis, cancer, heart disease and diabetes – YOU WANT TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE GIVING YOUR BODY WHAT IT NEEDS! By measuring the biochemical function of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, we give you a powerful tool in your health care or disease management program for achieving optimum health!

Who should have this test done? Ideally, everyone – It may be especially helpful for anyone with fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis, heart disease, those on medications and anyone with a chronic illness.

The results will be explained to you in detail, a treatment plan will be established, and you will be re-tested in four to six months to determine if your deficiencies have been corrected.

The following information will be provided on new lab tests!

MicroNutrient Lab TESTING

(more information and sample lab result)

An innovative assessment of a patient’s intracellular nutritional status. 31 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants are evaluated. These tests allow nutritional assessment for a broad variety of clinical conditions including arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular risk, diabetes, various immunological disorders, metabolic disorders and micronutrient deficiencies.

Telomere Lab Testing

(more information and sample lab result)

Telomeres are sections of genetic material at the end of each chromosome whose primary function is to prevent chromosomal “fraying” when a cell replicates. As a cell ages, its telomeres become shorter. Eventually, the telomeres become too short to allow cell replication, the cell stops dividing and will ultimately die – a normal biological process. SpectraCell’s Telomere Test can determine the length of a patient’s telomeres in relation to the patient’s age. A Telomere Score is calculated based on the patient’s average telomere length in peripheral whole blood cells. This average is then compared to telomere lengths from a population sample in the same age range as the patient to determine the patient’s percentile score.

MTHFR Genotyping Lab Test

(more information and sample lab results)

MTHFR is an enzyme responsible for converting 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to the product 5-methyltetrahydrofolate – it is involved in the metabolism of folate and homocysteine. The product of the reaction catalyzed by MTHFR converts homocysteine (a potentially toxic amino acid) to methionine (a useful and necessary amino acid).
